What is Kizuki Journaling?
Kizuki Journaling MAE Y method™ is a practical yet deeply introspective guide to unlocking inner wisdom and navigating life with clarity. By integrating meditative journaling with structured prompts, it provides a transformative framework for organizing thoughts and emotions on paper.
Created by Mae Yoshikawa, this method is recognized in Japan as her original style of kaku-meisou—“Writing Meditation.” First launched online in January 2021, amid the global pandemic, the program has been experienced over 14,000 times within its first three years. Its rapid growth is a testament to the profound shifts in self-awareness it fosters and, more importantly, the real-world behavioral changes it inspires.
This is more than a journaling technique—it’s an invitation to higher consciousness, one kizuki at a time.

How does it differ from other journaling methods?
Traditional journaling often serves as an outlet for emotions, helping to release stress. However, without identifying the underlying patterns or concrete steps for change, the benefits can be fleeting, leaving daily life largely unaffected. Writing alone, while therapeutic, does not inherently lead to transformation—it requires intentional follow-through.
This is where Kizuki Journaling MAE Y method™ stands apart.・A guided meditation is interwoven in the writing process, helping participants step away from habitual thought loops and gain a fresh perspective.
・A pivotal third prompt is introduced, designed to shift perspective and translate insights into action.
By bridging introspection with transformation, this method turns insights (kizukis) into meaningful, lasting change—starting here and now.
Unlike goal-driven business journaling, which focuses on measurable outcomes, Kizuki Journaling explores the intangible yet essential aspects of life—emotions, beliefs, values—offering a structured path to deeper self-awareness and aligned action.
